Furry Bottoms Rescue, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization first started in 2006. Originally started with just one foster home, it now includes a network of foster homes and volunteers that spans the eastern half of Wisconsin. To date, over 800 dogs have found forever homes through Furry Bottoms Rescue.

Furry Bottoms Rescue is not a shelter. It is a network of volunteers working towards a common goal - to save as many dogs as we can; one dog at a time. Since we do not have a facility, the number of dogs we can save depends entirely upon the number of foster homes available.

The majority of our dogs come from shelters that would othewise sell dogs to research labs or where they have exceeded the time limit allotted for them to be adopted - often, as little as one week. The rest come from local shelters and owners relinquishing their pets for various reasons. Regardless of their background, most of these dogs require nothing more than to be given a chance for someone to love them.

Helping one dog at a time means that these animals are more than a number to us. Each one is as unique and special as the family that will adopt them. We strive to find the right family for each dog based on their personality and needs. It is our hope that each dog finds a home for life, for love and forever.

The mission of Furry Bottoms Rescue is to take in abandoned and displaced dogs, provide a safe harbor for them, and then place them into loving, permanent homes. Some of our dogs come from shelters where they've been scheduled for the kill floor. Others are from private owners who no longer want their animals, or can't take care of them because family circumstances have changed and they need to find a new home for their dog.

Every dog will have a forever home where they are loved and cared for!

We're committed to making sure rescued dogs are well-cared for. All of the dogs we take in are checked by our veterinarians, receive the necessary vaccinations and/or medical attention, and are spayed or neutered before being adopted.

We work hard to provide a good match between each dog and his/her adoptive family.

We provide long-term support for any questions or concerns adopters might have.

We're committed to preventing cruelty to dogs by helping people learn about the proper care and training of their pets, including spaying and neutering as a way to decrease the homeless animal population.
