Furry Bottoms Rescue, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization first started in 2006. Originally started with just one foster home, it now includes a network of foster homes and volunteers that spans the eastern half of Wisconsin. To date, over 800 dogs have found forever homes through Furry Bottoms Rescue.
Furry Bottoms Rescue is not a shelter. It is a network of volunteers working towards a common goal - to save as many dogs as we can; one dog at a time. Since we do not have a facility, the number of dogs we can save depends entirely upon the number of foster homes available.
The majority of our dogs come from shelters that would othewise sell dogs to research labs or where they have exceeded the time limit allotted for them to be adopted - often, as little as one week. The rest come from local shelters and owners relinquishing their pets for various reasons. Regardless of their background, most of these dogs require nothing more than to be given a chance for someone to love them.
Helping one dog at a time means that these animals are more than a number to us. Each one is as unique and special as the family that will adopt them. We strive to find the right family for each dog based on their personality and needs. It is our hope that each dog finds a home for life, for love and forever.

Evie
Hello everyone! My name is Evie and I am two year old Jack Russell/Chinese Crested Mix who is looking forward to greeting the world! I am so excited about my new lease on life, that it is difficult not to share my excitement. Furry Bottoms Rescue saved me from a shelter where my time was up. Living with my temporary new family, I have learned so much; my foster mom says she has learned a lot too. I visited with a nice veterinarian who helped figure out that I have ADD, caused by food sensitivities. It is being managed with an easy diet change, flower essences and/or pure oils. I can concentrate on learning new things (like sit and stay and all those exciting things) and enjoy head massages... Oh yeah how I love the head massages. If you want to witness my becoming a puddle of warm butter before your eyes, rub my head! Ahhhhhhhh.....
My true personality is becoming more evident with each passing day. I get along with other dogs and even cats. Living with passive dogs would be the best fit if you have another dog. Sometimes I need help calming down when I get over excited.I just love life so much. My foster mom can show you what to do when this happens. It is pretty easy. I love toys of all kinds; my favorite is mom's shoes. I DON'T chew them, just an uncontrollable desire to carry them around and sleep with them tucked under my blanket or pillow bed. Wait till you see me smile, it is one of my cutest personality traits I have discovered in my foster home.
My forever home should be with kids 12 and over. I get along with people of all ages but am a little too excitable for little kids. Young moms and dads don't need that in their busy life. I would prefer people who are dog savvy, and can keep me on track. I want to learn and please my family. I have also learned how to sit and wait for my food, make eye contact and even respond to the command come. I am almost housebroke; When I get outside I get so busy, I don't take time for the business at hand, part of the solution is my foster mom makes me stay outside an extra 5 minutes without distraction. I am crate trained as well, and up to date on my shots.
I love people! I love life and want to enjoy a family who will cherish who I am. Someone who will give me my head massages and help me practice the art of being a good dog. I so want to find the right family so we can get on with our lives. If your heart strings are being pulled and tugged over me, apply for me today. I am patiently waiting for you!
