Furry Bottoms Rescue, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization first started in 2006. Originally started with just one foster home, it now includes a network of foster homes and volunteers that spans the eastern half of Wisconsin. To date, over 500 dogs have found forever homes through Furry Bottoms Rescue.
Furry Bottoms Rescue is not a shelter. It is a network of volunteers working towards a common goal - to save as many dogs as we can; one dog at a time. Since we do not have a facility, the number of dogs we can save depends entirely upon the number of foster homes available.
The majority of our dogs come from shelters that would othewise sell dogs to research labs or where they have exceeded the time limit allotted for them to be adopted - often, as little as one week. The rest come from local shelters and owners relinquishing their pets for various reasons. Regardless of their background, most of these dogs require nothing more than to be given a chance for someone to love them.
Helping one dog at a time means that these animals are more than a number to us. Each one is as unique and special as the family that will adopt them. We strive to find the right family for each dog based on their personality and needs. It is our hope that each dog finds a home for life, for love and forever.
Molly
Hi Everyone, My name is Molly! I am a 2-3 year old Labrador Retriever/Beagle mix. Yes I am aware that is an interesting combination, but you get the best of both worlds with me, full of the Lab enthusiasm without the size (only 25 pounds), plus no baying like a Beagle!
My foster mom says I have an A+ personality & it is true, I haven't met a single person (big or small) or animal I don't like so no restrictions on my adoption based on behavior issues! I love to snuggle & am a great listener so if you need to talk I am all ears (beagle?get it!);-) Even though I don't bay like a beagle I do have the hunting dog nose of one! Because of this I love games like hide and seek with treats in different areas outside and in the house. This helps keep me stimulated both mentally and physically so I hope we can continue. My foster mom also thinks I have the potential to be a great therapy dog because I love people & being touched, petted, & hugged so much, plus I don't jump on people! I know several commands, am housebroken, spayed (no more babies for me!), & up to date on all my shots, including heartworm & flea & tick preventative (Heartworm negative of course!).

Furry Bottoms Rescue operates without paid staff so our volunteers mean the world to us. We're grateful for their time and skills...we couldn't possibly exist without them. There are many ways you can volunteer with us, depending on your interests and how much time you can offer. And even though we're very passionate about our mission of saving dogs' lives, we're flexible, casual and like to have fun!
There's a special bond between a dog and it's Foster Family. Knowing you're changing the life of a deserving dog is immensely fulfilling, and the dogs seem so grateful to get a second chance they shower you with love and affection. You don't need any special skills or knowledge to foster a dog. If you have an open heart, patience, and some common sense, we'll give you all the information and support you need to be a success!
